Having a total area of 3.55 square miles, Woodcliff Lake is a borough in Bergen County in New Jersey state with a population of around 6,000 people. The borough gets its name from the lake of a similar name located inside the borough.

Originally established as Borough of Woodcliff in 1894 from the portions of Orvil Township and Washington Township, Woodcliff Lake is one of the 26 boroughs created due to the Boroughitis phenomenon in 1894. When the creation of Woodcliff lake reservoir was completed in 1910, the name of the borough officially changed to Woodcliff Lake.

The boroughs sharing their borders with Woodcliff Lake are Montvale, Hillsdale, River Vale, Park Ridge and Saddle River. Woodcliff Lake is also located just 20 miles away from Manhattan.

Apart from the old-constructed houses from the 18th century, Woodcliff Lake has many new age houses forming a part of Bergen county real estate, which require a minimum size of 22,500 square feet for single-family homes, which are abundantly present in the borough. The borough of Woodcliff Lake also has a couple of places of interest like Wood Dale County Park and Old Mill Pool.
