About Ridgefield, NJ Real Estate Market

Spread over an area of 2.87 square miles, Ridgefield is a small-sized borough from Bergen County in New Jersey, which has an estimated population of around 12,000 people. Formed as a borough under an act introduced by the New Jersey Legislature in 1892 using the portions of Ridgefield Township, Ridgefield is named after the geographical name of the area’s terrain.

Apart from North Bergen in Hudson County, Ridgefield shares its borders with several boroughs from Bergen County, such as Fairview, Carlstadt, Fort Lee, Cliffside Park, Palisades Park, Little Ferry, South Hackensack and Ridgefield Park. The overall borough of Ridgefield consists of three sections – Ridgefield in the valley on both the east and west sides, Morsemere in the northern part and Ridgefield Heights in the extreme eastern part running from north to south. You can contact Bergen County real estate agents for buying a house in any of the three sections of this borough.

Out of these three parts of Ridgefield, Moresemere is named after Samuel F.B. Morse, the inventor of the Morse Code who was born in this part of the borough. Morse was the owner of a vast part of the lands in this part of the borough. The Armenian Apostolic Church on Bergen Boulevard in the borough is one of the finest examples of architecture in the region.
