The township of North Bergen is partially present on the Hudson River, with its northern part sitting above a plateau.

Its list of prominent places of interest includes the Racetrack section, Bergenline Avenue, Bergenwood, Meadowview, New Durham, Bulls Ferry, Babbitt, Transfer Station and Woodcliff. There are a few historical places in the township of North Bergen, some of which include Granton, Homestead, New Durham, Hudson Heights, Three Pigeons, Shadyside and Tyler Park.
