About Lodi, NJ Real Estate Market

A part of 26 boroughs that were formed during the Boroughitis phenomenon in 1894, Lodi is a small borough spanning over 2.29 square miles of area in Bergen County in New Jersey state. Currently, the total population in Lodi is around 25,000 people.

The inspiration behind the name Lodi is accredited to the Italian city of Lodi, Lombardy, with which it shares geographical similarities. The formation of Lodi as a borough happened by incorporating the portions of South Hackensack (the then Lodi Township) and Saddle Brook (the then Saddle River Township) during the Boroughitis phenomenon, as a result of a referendum passed a day before the phenomenon took place.

The borough of Lodi shares its borders with other counties of Bergen, including Hasbrouck Heights, Garfield, Hackensack, Saddle Brook, Maywood, South Hackensack, Rochelle Park and Wood-Ridge. Apart from several small-sized homes in this part of New Jersey real estate, Lodi also has the transmitter and towers for a New York radio station named WABC.

As a modern-day town, Lodi is a clean and decent place to live in, with good living standards, well-organized schools, parks, shopping stores and banks. However, during heavy rains, many residential areas in this part of the New Jersey real estate become prone to flooding, which causes a hassle for commutes and living.
