About Ramsey, NJ Real Estate Market

Surrounded by boroughs like Mahwah, Allendale, Saddle River and Upper Saddle River, Ramsey is a small suburb of New York City situated 26 miles away from Midtown Manhattan. With a population of around 15,000 people, Ramsey has a total area spanning 5.57 square miles.

The borough of Ramsey is named after Peter J. Ramsey, one of the most prominent landlords who lived in this region. The railroad station in the town is built on land which was once owned by him. It was titled a borough under an act of the New Jersey Legislature in 1908, from the portions of Hohokus Township.

Even though 98 per cent of the land of Ramsey is fully developed, the borough has a rural ambience due to 153 acres of Green Acres Land, which is currently preserved as open space. Apart from the greenery present, Ramsey is home to a local site called Old Stone House, Ramsey Gold and Country Club, Finch Park, Ramsey Municipal Pool and Suraci Pond. Due to the high level of development and good living standards, you can find both small-sized and large-sized houses for sale in NJ.
